#265

In the foreground, on the right, stand two bizarre, striped figures. They are positioned at an altar upon which lies a mummy. Their bodies are patterned with horizontal and diagonal lines. From their heads rise two long, black, ear-like appendages—a symbol of rising incense or the immortal soul. The background consists of complex, nested, stepped geometric forms in gray and black. They resemble a winding labyrinth of passages, chambers, and barriers of an ancient tomb. On the left is a single stepped element rendered in a vibrant brick red.
